What Is Blue Cheese Dressing?

Blue cheese dressing is a creamy sauce made with mayo, sour cream, or buttermilk mixed with crumbled blue cheese, vinegar or lemon juice, and spices like garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. It's got that tangy kick from the blue cheese and adds a rich flavor to salads, veggies, or even as a dip for wings. It's basically a flavor bomb that elevates any dish!

How To Make Ultra Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl, stirring until smooth. Transfer the dressing to a mason jar or a tightly sealed container and pop it in the fridge. It's as easy as that! Ready in just 5 minutes!

Ingredients

BLUE CHEESE DRESSING:

  • Mayonnaise. Provides a creamy base for the dressing. Feel free to use your favorite brand.
  • Sour cream. Adds tanginess and creaminess to the dressing.
  • Blue cheese crumbles. Infuses the dressing with a bold, tangy flavor characteristic of blue cheese, giving it its distinctive taste.
  • Seasonings. Garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, dried parsley + black pepper.
  • Worcestershire sauce. My favorite is from Annies.
  • Rice wine vinegar. Adds acidity to balance the richness.
  • Almond milk. You can use whole milk or your fave plant-based milk. Adjusts the consistency of the dressing, helping to achieve the desired thickness or creaminess.

  • For a smoother texture, blend the dressing in a food processor or blender.
  • Allow the flavors to meld by refrigerating the dressing for at least an hour before serving.
  • Taste + adjust the seasoning before serving, as the flavors may intensify as the dressing sits.
  • Bring the dressing to room temperature and give it a good stir before using, as it may thicken in the fridge.
