Where do I honestly begin with this Honey Grapefruit Cucumber Tea? I’m such a HUGE fan of tea. It’s truly a staple within the Jamaican culture and I grew up seeing the adults in my family drink tea everyday.
While I wasn’t a fan of it in my earlier years, things definitely changed once I became in my late teens and I began my own love for a good ole’ cup of tea. Haha.
Growing up in the Jamaican culture, teas such as cerasee, mint, garlic, and so many other herbal teas were the everyday grab-n-go teas. While such teas are REALLY bold in flavor (sometimes off-putting), their health benefits goes far beyond the taste.
That is why I began making my teas + juices with powerful ingredients, especially during this time. Previously, I made this Healthy Citrus Pear Ginger Detox Tea, which has immune boosting properties that are without question. Made from fresh oranges, ginger roots, pears, lemons, grapefruit, and naturally sweetened, this tea is a great recipe for the entire family. Easy to make, vegan + gluten-free.

Simply use a Vegan Honey called Bee Free Honee. It’s actually made from organic apples. Crazy, right? Yup.
It’s perfect for those who are eating a Vegan diet, allergic to honey, children, and it has no preservatives, GMOs, or gluten. DYNAMITE!
Of course, if you don’t care for it to be Vegan approved, then you can feel free to use regular honey.
Before we dig into this recipe, did you know that Cucumber is an actual fruit and not vegetable? I know.
It’s pretty crazy how we think of all fruit being sweet or at least a little sweet in the midst of any tartness. However, a cucumber just don’t fit either category right? Is it just me? Haha.
But yes—cucumber is a fruit and it has some pretty awesome benefits as well:
And the list goes on.
Let’s face it—cucumbers are more than just that one ingredient that you throw on top of a salad to add character! It’s healthy stuff!
Let’s dig into this recipe, shall we?
In a medium pot over medium-high heat, add water and let it begin to boil. Once boiling, add grapefruit and cucumber and boil for 10-15 minutes, letting it simmer after the first 5 minutes.
Once done, remove from heat + cover the pot with a lid so that it steeps for 10 minutes or so, allowing all of the flavors to fully infuse and be potent.
Once fully steeped, add in the sweetener and stir until well incorporated.
Pour tea carefully into mugs and add freshly sliced grapefruit + cucumber as garnish, if preferred.
Sip and enjoy!
