I absolutely love bringing out this creamy whipped feta dip at parties and get-togethers—it never fails to surprise everyone. Even though it might seem like your typical creamy white dip, it's got that special touch with the perfect blend of creaminess + tanginess.

I'm all bout making dips that look super fancy without all the fuss, like the Roasted Garlic Olive Oil Dip I recently added to the site, alongside my all-time favorite Green Goddess Dip and my Homemade Pesto Sauce which I snuck into this dip too Haha. But this whipped feta dip? It's something else---It's like giving feta an upgrade—making it SO much creamier and ready to spread or dip into everything! And, of course, I couldn't resist adding my all-time favorite herb-roasted tomatoes on top for that extra burst of flavor.

This dip is a breeze to whip up, totally customizable (you can skip the walnuts for a nut-free option), and made with simple ingredients. Honestly, everyone who's given it a try has fallen head over heels for it! Place it alongside pita or Homemade Roasted Garlic Bread or even naan + veggies, and mark my words—it'll vanish in no time!

How To Make Pesto Whipped Feta Dip

First off, start by roasting your tomatoes using my roasted herb tomato recipe. After that, it's as simple as tossing your feta, pesto, honey, and Greek yogurt into the food processor. Quick note: If it doesn't reach the desired smoothness, throw in another 2 tablespoons of liquid (water or veggie stock) and give it another whirl.

Ingredients For Whipped Feta Dip

EVERYTHING YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THE BEST WHIPPED FETA DIP:

Nailing the perfect flavor in this feta dip is super easy with just a few main ingredients. Here's the lowdown on what you'll need:

DIP:

  • Feta cheese. An organic block is best. Better quality feta = better dip! Avoid crumbled feta as it often has extra ingredients that prevent caking.
  • Pesto sauce. You can either use store brought OR homemade pesto sauce
  • Honey. I find raw organic honey to have the best flavor. My favorite brand is Nate's Organic
  • Greek yogurt. Plain unflavored and unsweetened! (You can also sub with vegetable stock)

TOPPINGS:

  • Roasted herb tomatoes. Learn how to make your own herb-roasted tomatoes! You could also sub for store-bought sundried tomatoes!
  • Walnuts. Toasted + chopped! See FAQ for a nut-free option!
  • Honey. For a sweet drizzling on top!
  • Parsley. Fresh or dried.

Why Herb Roasted Tomatoes?

The herb-roasted tomatoes offer a delicious umami-packed flavorful topping for this feta dip. You can make them ahead of time in the oven, then keep the tomatoes in the fridge until you're ready to make the dip. They'll stay fresh for up to three days in an airtight container!

Common Q + A's For Pesto Whipped Feta Dip

How to store?

Place any leftovers in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Can I make this creamy feta dip in advance?

Absolutely! You can prepare the whipped feta dip a day ahead and store it in an airtight container in the fridge. Just give it a quick stir before serving and add your toppings!

Can I use store-bought pesto for this recipe?

Definitely! Store-bought pesto works great and is convenient, but if you prefer homemade pesto, that works wonderfully too.

Can I make this whipped dip nut-free?

Yes of course! You can substitute the walnuts in this recipe with sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds for a nut-free version. Or you can also just remove them and enjoy the dip as is!

Can I spice up this creamy feta dip?

Absolutely! Feel free to add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of cayenne pepper to give it a subtle heat if desired.

Can I adjust the sweetness of the dip?

If you prefer it to be less sweet, you can reduce the amount of honey used in the recipe. Start by adding a smaller quantity of honey, then taste and gradually add more if needed until it reaches your desired level of sweetness. Remember, it's always easier to add more sweetness later than to remove it, so start with a smaller amount and adjust accordingly.
