BRUSCHETTA:

  • French baguette. Sliced into ½-inch slices.
  • Roma tomatoes. Diced --- You can also roast them for added flavor. (See how to below)

How To Make My Fave Classic Bruschetta

This recipe is all about keeping it easy and simple, and the real star here? Fresh tomatoes ----- For the best results, be sure to pick up some high-quality, ripe tomatoes! They're the secret to making this dish truly shine.

TOAST THE BREAD:

  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  • Add sliced bread onto baking sheet and toast bread for 5 minutes or until golden and nice and crisp.

TO MAKE THE TOPPING:

  • In a bowl, add the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, and parmesan, tossing everything together until combined.

ASSEMBLE:

  • On your favorite platter, add the toasted sliced bread (lined side by side) and spoon 1-2 Tbsps of tomato topping atop each slice. Repeat until all breads are topped. Serve immediately.

How To Make Herb Roasted Tomatoes?

To elevate your bruschetta, consider adding herb-roasted tomatoes for an extra burst of flavor. They can be used in place of fresh tomatoes or combined for added depth. These savory, umami-rich roasted tomatoes are delightful on their own, atop toast, pasta, or as a side to any summery meal. Check out the recipe HERE!

What Is The Best Bread For Bruschetta?

When it comes to bruschetta, the best bread is often a crusty variety like a french baguette. Their sturdy texture holds up well to the toppings, while their crispy exterior contrasts beautifully with the soft interior. If you are in a bind, you can also use:

  • Ciabatta
  • Sourdough
  • Italian Bread
  • Focaccia

What Should I Serve With Bruschetta?

Bruschetta screams summer, especially when surrounded by tasty sides! Picture a colorful charcuterie board, deviled eggs, tuna salad, crackers, or my beloved whipped feta dip, all enhancing the vibrant flavors of the bruschetta. For something more toss in a cold pasta salad or some hot honey chicken, and don't forget to serve it all up with a refreshing glass of Southern sweet tea.

What Are The Best Tomatoes For Bruschetta?

For bruschetta, you'll want to use tomatoes that are ripe, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Varieties like Roma, San Marzano, or heirloom tomatoes are excellent choices because they have a rich, sweet taste and firm texture. Look for tomatoes that are deeply colored and have a slight give when gently squeezed. These types of tomatoes will elevate the flavor of your bruschetta and make it truly irresistible!

Can I Make Classic Bruschetta gluten-free?

Can i make more?

For additional servings, simply DOUBLE or TRIPLE the ingredients.

Can I make bruschetta ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the tomato topping in advance and store it in the refrigerator. However, it's best to assemble the bruschetta with the tomato topping on the toasted bread just before serving to prevent the bread from becoming soggy.

How do I store leftover bruschetta?

If you have leftover bruschetta, store the tomato topping separately from the toasted bread to prevent sogginess. Place the tomato topping in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2-3 days. When ready to enjoy, simply re-toast the bread and assemble with the tomato topping.
