Mocktails are for all year long, but, my favorite time of year to make them is winter.

Winter mocktails have endless flavor combinations, look beautiful, and go perfectly with any large Christmas roast.

With pears and oranges readily available, I love to make this easy Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail. It has a smoky-sweet flavor from home-roasted fruit, ginger beer, and warming spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg.

Your guests will love this mocktail! And for the people who drink, feel free to add alcoholic ginger beer to their cocktail!

What is Roasted Fruit?

We all know that roasted vegetables are common and delicious, but have you ever thought about roasting your fruit?

Roasting intensifies the flavor of whatever you are cooking. The outside of the food caramelizes while the natural sugars brown and get delicious in the oven.

That means roasting makes sweet fruit even sweeter, with a more complex and nuanced flavor. By roasting the pears and oranges with spices in this Spiced Maple Citrus Pear Mocktail, you get a well-developed and unique balance.

To roast fruit, use the same method as roasting veg. First, coat in olive oil. Then, roast in a preheated oven until the fruit is caramelized!

Don't believe me? Try it for yourself!
