Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail

This Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail is just the drink to serve at your Halloween party this year and it can be easily enjoyed as an adult drink if necessary. It has a spooky dark purple/black color but a sweet, non-alcoholic flavor that everyone will love. Made from cranberry juice, black cherry juice, blueberries/blackberries, black grapes, and naturally sweetened with maple syrup. All vegan ingredients.

As we know, Halloween is that time of the year where there's a ton of action happening from trick-or-treat moments to horror movie watch nights to fun costume parties--everywhere. While many enjoy the insanely fun spooky edible treats, the drinks will always be the main star and this Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail is one of the additions that you need to celebrate.

Last year, I made this Hocus Pocus Blueberry Blackberry Mocktail, which has become rather popular and for good reason! It is also made with blueberry + blackberries, but has a completely different taste experience from this year's pretty little number.

Of course, I have other great Halloween ideas (for both kids and adults alike) and I'll mention them further below, however, this mocktail is one of my faves----seriously! The great thing is that you can even switch things up a bit and use black plums (or plum juice)  instead of black cherry juice, just so that you can keep things nice and dark in color.

How to Make Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail

All it takes to make this spooky Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail is a mixing bowl, a muddler and a few key ingredients. This is the same way I like to make all my fruity drinks. If you have a potato masher, that will do the trick!

Ingredients

Here's what to need to make these Halloween mocktails:

  • Fresh blueberries or blackberries. It's definitely up to you!
  • Lemon soda. This is what makes for a nice fizz and I usually use organic soda. You can also use sparkling water or a probiotic soda like Olipop.
  • Cranberry juice. I like to use RW Knudsen 100% cranberry juice. For this mocktail, I used the cranberry pomegranate jucie, but just cranberry will work!
  • Black grapes. These add a nice sweet-tangy taste to the drink. Plus, the color fits perfectly for the theme.
  • Black cherry juice. This adds a touch of tartness while creating a dark colored look with the other ingredients. You can also use plum juice instead as well.
  • Maple syrup. Feel free to use a different liquid sweetener if you like, such as honey or Agave or a simple syrup.
  • Halloween decor. I've added awesome Halloween decor ideas to my Amazon Shop that work perfectly with this mocktail, from ice cube trays to mini spiders, bats, eye balls, etc.

Topping Ideas for Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail

The fun part comes when you're serving these Halloween Witches Brew Mocktails! Add spooky and festive toppings and decor like:

  • Candy eyeballs
  • Gummy spiders or worms
  • More fresh berries and grapes
  • Fresh herbs like rosemary or basil (burn the tips for a nice effect)
  • Mini skeletons, etc.

Why You'll Love This Halloween Mocktail

First and foremost, the flavors in this simple and easy Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail is enough to convince anyone, however, here are a few more reasons why you'll love this recipe:

  • It's Very Similar to the real 'feel' of a cocktail. Yes, while this mocktail doesn't have actual alcohol, I promise that it's just as complex in flavor, smooth, and tasty as any cocktail----obviously with additional bold flavors from the combination of grapes, berries, and black cherry and the nice fizz.
  • It's super fun to make! I literally love the creation of this mocktail with my son since it's so easy and involves a spooky feel.
  • You save money! This by far is one of my biggest reasons for making my own drinks at home (minus the last point to come). You definitely save more money purchasing the ingredients and making your own servings at home.
  • It's healthier. Most of all, this is my biggest plus! I love when I am able to know what ingredients I use whenever making drinks, cooking, or baking. Making my mocktails and drinks in general at home has definitely allowed me to switch to healthier, organic ingredients which is a win, win!

The Best Places to Purchase Halloween Props

For most of my Halloween props, including glassware, etc.---I love to find things that are high-quality, unique, and not too "cheesy" as it relates to Halloween. Haha. Personally, this year, I added a few things to my collection from last year (because they are such nice quality----yay money saver!) and the following top retailers and online places to purchase Halloween decor are:

Etsy (Where I purchased the mini realistic-looking pumpkins and crows).

Pottery barn (Where I purchased these stunning skeleton cocktail glasses).

Crate & Barrel (Where I purchased the mini candles and other cocktail accessories).

Williams Sonoma

Amazon

Best Toddler Approved Fun Things for Halloween

Boo!----This is suppose to be one of the most scariest times of the year. It's all about ghosts, zombies, witches, monsters, pumpkins, and anything spooky and almost unbearably terrifying! That's Halloween for ya! However, when it comes to having a toddler, many of the scarier things are often far too scary for them to enjoy. No grooling monster, bloody drinks, snickering witch, or eyeballs floating around for them (or at least most toddlers anyway!).

Adding Alcohol to this Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail

If you’d like to serve this Halloween drink as a cocktail, you can add your favorite alcohol to the mixture. The best types of alcohols (just about 1 ounce or so) that work great with this fruity flavor are:

  • Gin
  • Rum
  • Champagne
  • Tequila
  • Whiskey
  • Vodka

Big-Batch Mocktails For a Crowd

You can prepare a big pitcher of Halloween Witches Brew Mocktail for a crowd. Just increase the ingredients proportionally. Wait to add the ice until you're ready to serve so the flavor isn't diluted.
