This No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream with Rainbow Sprinkles recipe is a childhood favorite that never gets old. It has a texture like real soft-serve thanks to ingredients like cold cream, vanilla, sweetened condensed milk, and agave for sweetness.
Growing up, I always jumped at the opportunity to bring a melty Mr. Softey treat home from the ice cream truck on a hot summer day. One of my favorite treats has always been classic vanilla soft-serve ice cream with a thick coating of crunchy rainbow sprinkles.
These days, I don’t often find myself running after the ice cream truck jingle. But I still have a hankering for sweet, creamy vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. That’s why I decided to make my own, super-simple version f this childhood favorite. instead of refined sugar, my version is sweetened with agave. ABut it has the same light and airy texture I remember without any churning. Your freezer, not your arm, does the hard work for this ice cream recipe, and the results are beloved by kids and adults alike!
If you have a birthday celebration in your future, I highly recommend pairing your no-churn ice cream with a beautiful homemade vanilla cake with dairy-free vanilla buttercream frosting. It’s a classic duo that never disappoints.
This is a great recipe to get little helpers active in the kitchen. My son loves helping make this creamy treat–almost as much as he loves eating it!

Can you use Cool Whip instead of beating your own and how much Cool Whip should you use?
Hi Elaine! Yes, you definitely can! I would use 2 cups of cool whip for this! 🙂
Am I reading this right? 2 TABLESPOONS of vanilla? Just wondering.
Hi! You can add 1 Tbsp of vanilla extract! 🙂
In the directions, it does not say when to add the maple syrup.
Hi Tina! So sorry! You add in the maple syrup along with the condensed milk! 🙂
When I churn cream it turns into butter.
Hi Pravina! Are you referring to the heavy cream? If so, I usually whisk it in an Electric Mixer for a few minutes and it usually comes up like fluff, which gets folded with everything else. 🙂
