Is anyone else a huge fan of meals that can be repurposed for other dishes? I am! Taking a delicious recipe, such as bbq cauliflower bites, and putting them in a taco shell is truly heavenly.

That's how I developed these insanely delicious Easy BBQ Cauliflower Tacos, which consist of homemade bbq cauliflower wings and sautéed corn placed on a tortilla and topped with all of your favorite taco toppings. Top with vegan crema, avocado, salsa, or anything else you love.

Crispy, crunchy, and sticky, these bbq cauliflower wings are delicious on their own, dipped in vegan ranch. When placed on a grilled tortilla, they're even better! Crispy cauliflower belongs on tacos. There's no denying it!

Making Cauliflower Wings

There are a few methods to making delicious, crisp cauliflower wings. The most important aspect of cauliflower wings is that they need to be crispy. Soggy cauliflower wings are still delicious, but they are lacking in texture.

For crispy wings, you can either oven-fry, deep-fry, or air-fry. I often use the oven or the air fryer for my wings to cut down on oil and fat. You can still get crispy wings without all the oil and frying!

Once the wings are cooked, you will need to toss them in a sauce. You can either make your own or use your favorite brand. This recipe calls for BBQ sauce, but you can also use buffalo sauce for a spicy kick!

Optional Toppings for Tacos

My BBQ Cauliflower Tacos are topped with a special spicy sauteed corn that goes really well with the cauliflower. The pop and crunch of the corn enhance the mouthfeel of the tacos, so don't skip it!

Other excellent toppings for these tacos are:

  • Pico de gallo
  • Salsa verde
  • Guacamole
  • Cilantro
  • Black bean salsa
  • Chopped onion
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cheese
  • Crema

How to Make BBQ Cauliflower Tacos

For the BBQ Cauliflower:

Begin by making your cauliflower bites/wings and letting them bake. Also, make the BBQ sauce as per the directions, or use your favorite premade sauce. In the meantime, prep the remaining ingredients.

For the Corn:

In a medium skillet, add butter and let it melt over medium-high heat. Once melted, add corn kernels, salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, mixing together and cooking corn until it begins to greatly brown (almost char-like), stirring occasionally for about 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

For the Tortillas:

To lightly toast taco tortillas, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place tortillas directly on the rack. Turn off the oven once heated and let tortillas warm for 2 minutes. Remove from oven. For char on a stovetop, pop one of the tortillas onto a gas burner until you begin to see a little smoke. Remove tortilla to rotate it onto opposite side until it’s lightly charred. Repeat until all tortillas are charred.

To Assemble:

To assemble tacos, add 2-3 BBQ cauliflower wings atop a charred tortilla followed by: sautéed corn, sliced avocados, jalapeños and your favorite dressing/condiment. Repeat until the desired amount of tacos are made.

Bon Appetit!

  1. Great cauli - we didn’t have enough bbq sauce to coat it as we used a shop bought vegan bbq sauce. Will make again - breadcrumbs were a great addition!
