Ingredients

CHICKEN WINGS:

  • 2 ½ lbs. organic chicken wings, disjointed
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 cups Homemade BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup organic raw honey

Instructions

SEASON + MARINATE THE CHICKEN:

  • In a large bowl, add your freshly cleaned + rinsed chicken wings along with the the seasonings: salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, parsley, and thyme, mixing everything together until chicken wings are fully coated. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. NOTE: For best results, it's best to marinate chicken wings overnight in the refrigerator or for up to 2 days.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a standard 9x13 baking dish or a large foil baking pan. Set aside. NOTE: You can also bake the wings in a large oven-safe skillet as well.

TO MAKE THE BBQ SAUCE:

BAKE THE CHICKEN:

  • In the same large bowl of the wings, add the BBQ sauce and honey, stirring to combine and fully coat the wings. Scoop the coated chicken wings into the prepared baking dish or pan and bake (uncovered) for 40-45 minutes or until the sauce has "Baked unto" chicken wings. NOTE: I like to stir the wings a bit at the halfway cooking mark, turning them onto their opposite sides and keeping them coated as they bake.
  • NOTE: You can also broil the wings for the final 10-15 minutes for the best results. Just be sure to keep an eye on them to avoid burning. Remove from oven.
  • To serve, enjoy your honey bbq wings with a side of bread, fries, or with your favorite side (i.e. grilled corn, potatoes, rice, veggies, etc.).
  • Bon Appétit!

Notes

  • STORAGE: Any leftovers can be kept in a tightly sealed container and refrigerated for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or microwave when ready to serve.
  • HONEY: You can always substitute honey with maple syrup or Agave.
