Ingredients

JUICE:

  • 4 cups filtered water (I like to use Alkaline water, but regular filtered water works fine!)
  • 6 blood oranges, freshly-squeezed (For extra nutrients, you can cut out the "flesh" of the oranges instead and blend)
  • 2 navel oranges, freshly-squeezed
  • 1 medium Gala apple, skin on + sliced (You can use Granny Smith or any type of apple)
  • 1 lemon, freshly-squeezed
  • 2 inches fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

BLEND ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER:

  • In a high-powered blender, add the blood oranges, orange, ginger, apple, lemon juice, turmeric, black pepper, and water, blending everything on medium-high speed until smooth and 'foamy', about 2-3 minutes.

STRAIN + SERVE:

  • Using a strainer, strain the liquid mixture into a bowl and discard any pulp from that is captured.
  • ASSEMBLY: For each drink, fill the glass with crushed ice (if desired) followed by the blood orange juice. NOTE: Instead of adding ice, you can chill juice for 1-2 hours in the refrigerator before serving and shake well prior to pouring.
  • Sip and Enjoy!

Notes

  • STORAGE: Keep any leftovers in the refrigerator, tightly covered in your pitcher or in a sealed mason jar for up to 1 week. Best if consumed within a few days. Always shake well before serving.
  • ADDITIONAL BOOST: To add a boost to make this juice more powerful, you can add cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar, allspice, cinnamon, basil, chia seeds, etc. I would use about 1 teaspoon of any addition.
  • APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Be sure to use organic, unfiltered ACV that includes "the mother" to benefit from the gut-friendly bacteria and probiotics.
  • EQUIPMENT: Here, I’ve curated a list of drinkware and mocktail essentials that I use to achieve my favorite drinking experiences, especially with this Cleansing Sugar Detox Juice. Everything from my fave glassware, blenders, ice cube trays, and more.
