Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups organic all-purpose flour (I use Bob's Red Mill)
  • 2 Tbsps organic brown sugar (I use Sugar in the Raw!)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ cups Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Butter (See Notes!)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (See Notes!)
  • 1 ¾ cups coconut milk (You can use your own favorite plant-based milk!)
  • 2 large organic eggs

Other:

  • 3 caramelized bananas
  • peanut butter cups, crushed (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder and sea salt. Set aside.
  • In a separate large bowl, whisk together the chocolate hazelnut butter, eggs, oil and coconut milk. Then add wet mixture to dry ingredients and stir with a spatula until well incorporated.
  • Preheat your Belgian Waffle Maker according to instructions and set on medium heat. Lift the waffle maker cover and pour about 1 cup of batter into center of the griddle, allowing batter to spread out evenly (avoid OVER-FILLING). Lower the lid and let it cook about 4 minutes (or according to maker's instructions).
  • Carefully transfer cooked waffle to a plate and repeat until all waffles are made. Garnish with caramelized banana slices and chopped peanut butter cups (optional). Serve immediately and Bon Appetite!

SWEETENER: If you choose to opt out of pure cane sugar, you can always substitute for coconut sugar or pure maple syrup instead. If using pure cane sugar, ensure that it is Vegan-approved such as the Wholesome brand, etc.
OIL: Instead of vegetable oil, you can also use coconut oil, if preferred.
