Lemon Blackberry Mint Tea
When it comes to this Lemon Blackberry Mint Tea recipe, it’s all about the bold mint flavors paired with the bit of tartness from the lemon and slight sweetness from the blackberries. Naturally sweetened, this tea serves great as a detox or a boost in digestion, can be served hot or cold, and is easy to make, and perfect for any day or season, especially during the cold weather months.
Servings 4 servings
- 3 cups fresh water
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/2 cup honey or agave syrup (for Vegan option)
- 1/3 cup blackberries, fresh
In a medium pot over medium-high heat, add water and let it begin to boil. Once boiling, add mint leaves and boil for 10 minutes, letting it only simmer (on low heat) after the first 5 minutes. Add lemon slices in the last 2-3 minutes of simmer, then remove from heat and cover the pot with a lid so that everything begins to fully infuse, about 3-4 minutes.
Add honey to sweeten and serve in prepared mugs.
Pour tea carefully into mugs, add a mint leaf in each, followed by a lemon slice and 2-3 blackberries.
Sip and enjoy!
STORAGE: Keep any leftover tea in an airtight bottle or mason jar and refrigerate for a few days. To serve---reheat on the stove top and enjoy!
BLACKBERRIES: For a bolder Blackberry flavor, simply add them into the pot once mixture begins to simmer. Straining when serving might be required. Continue recipe.
